Chiropractor Valencia Talks about Scoliosis

Are Your Kids being Treated for  SCOLIOSIS properly?

chiropractor valencia Chiropractor Valencia Talks about Scoliosis

Scoliosis is something that should be taken very seriously and therefore the screening process needs to be taken seriously as well.  Unfortunately, our school systems don’t have the resources to hire skilled individuals to perform proper scoliosis screenings.  Often, the schools perform a massive quick screen where they herd our children in and out of the exam.  The best way to screen for scoliosis is to do a complete skeletal exam and possibly x-rays by your chiropractor or pediatrician.   “Adolescent Scoliosis” is the most common form and usually appears around puberty.  Young girls are most affected, with a ratio of 9 to 1 over males.  There is a critical time period for progression, which may be rapid, and occurs between the ages of 12 and 16.  If your child has not been screened “properly” please get it done.  If your child has been diagnosed with scoliosis there are treatment options available beyond bracing and surgery.  It is important to learn the proper exercises and treatment to help slow the progression and perhaps stop it.  Many of you have learned about your scoliosis here in my office, later in life, when it has become more and more painful. We may be able to avoid that with early detection in our kids.

Chiropractor Valencia Talks About “The Detox Diet” and if it Works!

Chiropractor Valencia -

“What is a DETOX Diet, and should I do it?”

(Learn what it is and how it can help you.)

The answer to the latter part of the question is yes, but do it safely.  A “detox diet” can be safe and effective but it can be harmful as well.  To understand this type of diet we have to understand the terminology behind it.  Detox, short for detoxification, is the removal of potentially toxic substances from the body.  A toxin (as in de-TOX-in) is a chemical or poison that is known to have harmful effects on the body. Advocates of detox diets say our bodies are continually overloaded with toxins from, for example, pollution, cigarette smoke, pesticides, a poor diet, food additives, alcohol and caffeine. As these toxins build up in our system, any number of health problems can occur, including weight gain, cellulite, headaches, dull skin, bloating, fatigue, lowered immunity, aches and pains, and a general lack of wellbeing. The process of detoxing helps to remove these toxins from the body with the result that you lose weight, feel healthier and begin recovery from all those other niggling health problems.

Generally, a detox diet is a short-term diet that minimizes the amount of chemicals ingested, (e.g. by choosing organic food) emphasizes foods and supplements that provide the vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants that the body needs for detoxification.  It also includes foods and supplements that draw out and eliminate toxins. But remember urination and bowel movements are our body’s way of eliminating these toxins, so, most detox diets will increase the frequency of our natural elimination process.  Make sure you see a doctor or healthcare specialist that uses natural whole food products and supplements for the detoxification aspect of the diet. The quality of the food supplements is crucial and must be taken seriously.  And remember you should always consult a doctor before you begin a detox diet to make sure that it is safe for you to do.  To start your detox diet call Dr. Jeff Bowne, D.C. and schedule a detox consultation.  (661-288-2224, on Town Center Drive)

Chiropractor Valencia and the Truth about Spinal Decompression

The truth is that it works.  Some studies have shown an 86% effectiveness, whereas the odds of effectiveness of drugs and surgery are no better than flipping a coin.  However, be aware that some doctors and manufacturers claim to achieve spinal decompression with their machine but do not have the research to support their claims.  As of now, there is only one product available that has the research to support the claim of non-invasive spinal decompression and that is the DRX9000™True Spinal Decompression machine.  The DRX9000™ is the only therapeutic device with FDA 510 K clearance for True Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression™.

The DRX9000™ is unique in its ability to avoid the protective reaction from low back muscles during therapy.  The body’s natural reaction is to resist and tighten in response to manipulation or induced decompression and stretching.  Under these conditions of resistance, True Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression™ cannot occur. Engineered to avoid this natural resistance, the DRX9000™ was created to deliver a series of gentle stretch/relax motions and sequences with unique precision.  In this manner, muscular spasm is completely avoided.

The DRX9000™ is a precision-engineered system that has a motor feedback mechanism, making specific and controlled adjustments during treatments, which are required for True Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression™. Traditional traction devices do not have feedback systems necessary to achieve the gentle and smooth action that is required for True Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression™.

If you have been diagnosed or have been suffering from herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease or facet syndrome, you may be a candidate for non-surgical spinal decompression. However, it should only be done by a doctor utilizing the DRX9000™ technology.  As of now, no other machine has the science, the U.S. patents, or the FDA clearance to support the claim of true spinal decompression.  If you think you may be a candidate, contact Dr. Jeff Bowne, D.C. at 288-2224.
